General rules for the Festival
1. This festival is primarily for amateurs, but is also open to professionals with a licentiate-diploma (earning an income primarily by teaching and / or performing this specific subject). The committee reserves the right to decide who is professional.
2. The age of a participant is determined according to his / her age on the day of the start of the music festival.
3. An original composition may not be presented more than once in a category of the festival.
4. Participants may not enter more than once in the same category. e.g. in the category Duo 10 years a participant may not enter more than once.
5. The decision of the adjudicator is final.
6. Nobody (excluding committee members) may speak to the adjudicator at any time during the course of the festival.
7. The Festival Committee cannot be held responsible for entries, queries or correspondence, unless directly addressed to the chairperson.
8. For specific rules for categories you are referred to the programme of the specific categories.
9. Participants must be at the correct venue at least half an hour before the time.
10. Ensure that the name and surname of the candidate is correctly entered as it must appear on the certificate.
11. No entries will be accepted without correctly completed entry form and entry fee.
12. For groups consisting of ten or less participants, each individual’s name must be indicated on the entry form, and will receive a certificate. Indicate names clearly as a group. Bigger groups will only receive one certificate with the group’s name appearing on the certificate.
13. The Festival has the right not to award prizes should the performances not meet the required level.
